Borger, Texas – Six people were injured in a fire at the Phillips 66 Borger Complex. The fire was first reported at 10:15 AM on Tuesday, January 17th. Emergency personnel, including the Borger Fire Department, responded.

The fire started in the storage tank farm of the complex, shutting down State Highway 136 between Borger and Stinnett for hours. The fire was out by 2:30 PM.

All personnel has been accounted for, and the six injured individuals received medical attention. However, four victims were life-flighted in critical condition directly to University Medical Center in Lubbock. Three others were treated for second-degree burns.

The cause of the accident has not yet been released.

Our hearts go out to the victims and their families today. We have represented workers from similar fires and have seen firsthand the long road to recovery after a refinery explosion.
