Calhoun County, TX (January 26, 2021) – One man has lost his life after his involvement in an auto accident reported just outside of Port Lavaca. At approximately 12:30 p.m. on Sunday afternoon, January 24, the Texas Department of Public Safety was called to assist at the scene of a car crash that occurred on a roadway in Calhoun County.
Sources indicate that the collision took place on Farm to Market Road 1289 between a Dodge Ram and a Ford Ranger, approximately 12 miles outside of Port Lavaca. The Dodge’s driver, identified as Medardo Luis Garcia, 40, was fatally injured in the wreck. He was pronounced deceased at the scene by medical professionals.
The collision caused severe damage to both vehicles involved. Closures were issued on Farm to Market 1289 while first responders worked to clear the wreckage from the roadway.
