Conroe, TX (December 8, 2020) – A woman who was traveling on foot in the main lanes of Interstate 45 in Conroe was fatally struck by a vehicle on Monday, December 7. The collision then caused a four-car crash to occur at around 5:40 a.m.
After the woman, Identified as Amy Ambercrombie, 26, was struck by a truck, it then crashed into another vehicle ahead of it. A Montgomery County deputy was unable to stop before striking the two vehicles. A tire then flew off of the deputy’s vehicle, striking a fourth car.
Video footage from the crash scene shows damage to a truck and a police cruiser. There is no information on whether or not anyone else was injured in the crash.
The Interstate was closed until just before 9:00 a.m. that morning while first responders were present at the crash scene. Few other details have been released at this time.
