Deer Park, TX – Jesus Duran Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash on La Porte Fwy near Independence Fwy

Deer Park, TX (August 12, 2021) – Jesus Duran lost his life in a fatal two-car crash that occurred on a freeway in Deer Park in the early morning hours of August 11. At approximately 3:37 p.m., police, paramedics, and other responders were sent to the scene in order to help those involved. 

Officials said that an 18-wheeler driven by a Cody Field was stopped on the outbound shoulder of La Porte Freeway. He was asleep in his 2003 Peterbilt 379 with a flatbed trailer attached. 

Jesus Duran crashed into the rear-end of the truck in his 2012 Infiniti 370 and was impaled by rebar, according to reports. Duran lost his life at the scene. No other injuries were reported. 

The eastbound feeder road at Battleground and 225 was closed while police investigated the incident. Motorists were forced to use alternative routes. 

Police continue to investigate the circumstances of the incident. No further information is available at this time.
