Fort Worth, TX (June 14, 2021) – A car collided with an ambulance on Sunday, June 14th as it drove through an intersection in response to a call.

The MedStar unit was answering an emergency call with its sirens and lights both activated when a car ran into it at the intersection of Loop 820 and Hemphill Street.

The force of the impact pushed the ambulance onto its side.

The three MedStar crew members inside all sustained non-critical injuries and were transported to the hospital by a second MedStar crew.

The driver of the car was also injured during the crash and was taken to an area hospital.

Our thoughts are with the injured victim and their family at this time. We hope for their full recovery.

In Houston and throughout the state of Texas, injury-causing accidents take place thousands of times every year, injuring and sometimes ending the lives of several thousand victims. As reported by the Texas Department of Transportation, in 2018 there were over 12,000 critical car accidents that resulted in injury in Texas. Of those accidents, 14,937 people were injured and more than 3,000 lost their lives.

Regrettably, almost all of the collisions that take place in Texas and within the United States are caused by some kind of driver negligence. Recent statistics compiled concerning the most common causes of traffic accidents in the US found that about 94% of the car crashes that take place are the result of driver recklessness, carelessness, or negligence.
