Harris, TX (December 8, 2020) – This past Saturday morning, December 5, two people were struck by a vehicle on a roadway in northeast Harris County in Houston. The two were identified as Kerra Elizabeth Atkins, 28, and Joshua Michael Cuellar, 20. Atkins lost her life in the collision while Cuellar is in critical condition.
Atkins and Cuellar were traveling on foot headed east in the westbound lanes of Kranek Road in the 700 block near Merrill Heights according to information provided by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
A man by the name of Charley Lee Lenderman, 87, was headed west in his Lexus SUV when he struck the pair and then fled the scene of the collision. Both victims were rushed to Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center by helicopter where Atkins was later pronounced deceased. Cuellar remains in critical condition according to police.
Authorities then located Lenderman’s SUV a few miles from the crash scene, which had been damaged in the crash.
