Houston, TX – Charles Senior Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash on N Shepherd Dr near Thornton Rd

Houston, TX (December 26, 2021) – An accident reported on the northwest side of Houston claimed one man’s life on Sunday. On December 26, emergency crews were notified that their assistance was needed on-site at a crash on North Shepherd Drive.

Reports from local authorities show that a patrol car traveling north of North Shepherd Drive collided with a car at the intersection of Thornton Road. The impact of the crash left the two vehicles with moderate damage. The incident caused delays in the area as crews secured the roadway to clear the scene.

The driver of the vehicle, 77-year-old Charles Payne Senior, suffered fatal injuries in the accident. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The officer was transported to a local hospital for the treatment of minor injuries.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
