HOUSTON, TX (December 27, 2020) – One person has lost their life after their involvement in a traffic accident that turned fatal on a roadway in Houston this past Friday, December 25. One individual was detained and another is currently on the run following the fatal crash.
The accident occurred at approximately 2:00 a.m. on the North Loop at Ella Boulevard. A black SUV was traveling on the North Loop when it disregarded a red light and struck a Honda Civic. According to the Houston police, the Civic was traveling south on Ella Boulevard at the time of the crash.
The driver of the Civic lost his life in the collision. He has only been identified as an adult male at this point in time, as police are still investigating the circumstances of the accident.
A police officer who saw the collision occur promptly detained the SUV’s driver who was identified as a middle-aged female. While the police officer was attempting to secure medical assistance for the driver of the Civic, a female passenger present in the SUV fled the scene of the accident.
The Vehicular Crimes Division of the Houston Police Department is currently conducting an investigation into the circumstances of the collision. No further information has been provided at this point in time.
