Houston, TX (November 14, 2021) – Houston authorities are currently searching for a driver who left the scene of a chain-reaction accident that took the life of a 24-year-old man. According to reports, the wreck occurred on the morning of Sunday, November 14.
Police say that the man was traveling north on the Southwest Freeway near Shepherd Drive just before 3:00 a.m. when an unknown vehicle rear-ended him. Shortly afterward, two more vehicles, identified as a BMW and a silver Infiniti, also struck the man’s vehicle.
The force of the collisions caused his car to roll over. It landed on the right shoulder of the freeway, reports read. The driver of the Infiniti remained on-site while the driver who caused the crash fled the area. The BMW’s driver required emergency transportation to an area hospital where they were medically evaluated and charged with a DWI.
All inbound lanes of Shepherd Drive were shut down for several hours while investigators worked at the crash scene. Authorities continue to investigate the details of the wreck.
We would like to offer our sincere condolences to the family of the deceased victim, who has not been identified at this time.
