Houston, TX (January 2, 2020) – An automobile accident that seriously injured two young boys took place on South Braeswood Street near South Rice in Houston this past Tuesday, December 29. The crash occurred around 10:30 a.m. 

According to the Houston Police Department, the accident was caused by the boys’ father who was identified as Forrest Burgess, 25. He was traveling on South Braeswood at speeds over 100 miles per hour while his one and three-year-old sons were in the back seat without car seats. 

An officer who was using radar to check speeds spotted Burgess’ vehicle and attempted to catch up with it, but was unable to do so. Burgess crashed his vehicle into a tree shortly after losing the officer. Burgess along with his two sons all suffered serious injuries in the accident.

The one-year-old child is currently in critical condition and was expected to be taken in for surgery. 

Burgess is charged with aggravated assault of a family member and felon in possession of a weapon. No further information concerning the circumstances of the crash has been released to the public at this time.
