Houston, TX (March 17, 2021) – A heavy truck accident in Houston had all of the main lanes of the Eastex freeway blocked for an extended period of time on the afternoon of March 12. Shortly after 3:00 p.m., police and emergency medical personnel were dispatched to the area of Northpark on I-69 for a traffic accident with injuries. 

Police and paramedics arrived at the scene shortly after the collision took place in order to assist those with injuries. Those who were hurt in the wreck were rendered emergency aid at the scene before being taken to local medical centers for further care as needed. 

Involved parties have not been publicly identified at this point in time. The police in Houston are still investigating the circumstances of the incident. 

The northbound lanes of the roadway were blocked while responders worked to clear the area. Drivers were told to expect extensive delays and seek alternate routes if possible.
