Houston, TX (October 16, 2021) –  A major vehicle collision occurred in Houston on the evening of October 16 that required an emergency response. Just before 8:30 p.m., various responders were sent to assist at the scene of an accident on Airline Drive.

Sources indicate that the collision occurred near the 6000 block of Airline Drive in the vicinity of the Walgreens Airline Pharmacy and the intersection with Cooper Road. An unspecified number of vehicles collided in the area, resulting in injuries and traffic delays. 

At least one victim required emergency transportation to an area medical center for the treatment of injuries they sustained in the crash. Currently, no one involved has been identified to the public. 

Responders were observed on the roadway for several hours after the incident occurred, causing extensive traffic delays at the intersection of Airline Drive and Cooper Road. Authorities urged drivers commuting in the area to seek alternative travel routes for the time being. 

No further information has been released concerning the nature or severity of the accident. Police in Houston continue to investigate.
