Houston, TX (November 29, 2021) – A man selling flowers on a roadway median was hit and killed by an oncoming car on Sunday, November 28th in Houston.
The accident took place at about 6:00 p.m. in the area of West Gulf Bank Road and Airline Drive.
According to officials, one car struck another, sending the first vehicle over the median, hitting a man who was standing there. The force of the impact was so great that the man was tossed onto the hood of a third vehicle several feet away.
He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital but eventually died due to his injuries.
The suspect attempted to flee the scene, but his vehicle stopped running. He then tried to escape on foot but was apprehended and placed under arrest by an off-duty Houston Police officer who was working security at a nearby flea market.
The suspect will be charged with Failure to Stop and Render Aid.
We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased victim at this time.
Fatal Pedestrian Accidents in Texas

Being aware and mindful of the pedestrians with whom we share our roadways is a responsibility taken far too lightly by too many drivers.
