Houston, TX (September 17, 2021) – A woman and her son both sustained life-threatening injuries after a hit-and-run accident crashed occurred on Friday morning, September 17, in the Humble area.

Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said that the woman and her four children, ages 2 to 8 years old, were riding eastbound on FM 1960 near Woodland Hills around 7:30 a.m. At that time, another driver traveling in a small, silver-colored SUV cut her off.

The woman tried to swerve and avoid the accident but her vehicle rolled over as a result, landing on the other side of the guardrail.

Paramedics transported the woman and her 8-year-old son via ambulance to an area medical center. They were both in critical condition upon arrival at the hospital. The sheriff said the three other children were also transported but are stable.

Authorities are now searching for the driver who left the scene. Officers are also hoping other drivers may have dashcam footage that can help them identify the driver who caused it.

The HCSO is continuing its investigation and has not released further details.

Our thoughts are with everyone involved in hopes of a complete recovery.

Being injured in a car crash in Houston can cause many different issues in a person’s life. Depending on the severity of the wreck, injured accident victims may be forced to stay in the hospital for a prolonged time period in order to recover from their injuries.

If the crash that you were involved in was caused by the negligent, reckless, or careless actions of another driver, you could qualify for significant financial compensation for your injuries and losses.
