Fatal Traffic Accidents in Houston

Injuries from car accidents in Houston and across Texas take place thousands of times per year. These injuries sometimes end the lives of thousands of people. According to the Texas Department of Transportation, in 2018, over 12,000 serious car accidents resulted in severe injuries. Of those accidents, 14,937 people were injured, and over 3,000 lost their lives.

Unfortunately, almost all trucking accidents that take place in Texas and across the United States are caused by some form of driver negligence. Recent statistics compiled concerning the most common causes of traffic accidents in the US found that approximately 94% of the car accidents that take place are the result of driver recklessness or negligence. Some common forms of driver negligence include, but are not limited to:

  • Intoxication
  • Fatigue
  • Distraction

These are the three most common forms of driver negligence found to cause car accidents in Houston.
