Houston, TX – Three Killed in 3 Separate Pedestrian Crashes along FM 1960

Aug 23, 2021 | Houston, TX Traffic Accidents

Houston, TX (August 23, 2021) – Late Sunday, August 22, three people lost their lives in three separate pedestrian collisions in Harris County in Houston. Information from officials states that the wreck occurred just after 10:00 p.m. west of I-45.

Sources indicate that the incidents happened along FM 1960. The first accident happened when a Chrysler sedan headed east on FM 1960 hit two pedestrians who were in the roadway. Both were pronounced deceased on-site.

Police stated that the driver involved in that crash pulled over and cooperated with police. A few moments later, as traffic was backing up due to the wreck, another fatal pedestrian-involved auto accident took place on FM 1960.

A Jeep, possibly 2017, maneuvered around traffic in the westbound lanes and struck a person who was standing in the outside lanes. That person lost their life at the scene. The driver of the Jeep did not stop to render aid and fled the site of the crash.

Authorities in Houston continue to investigate the details of the incidents. No further information has been released at this time.

We would like to offer our sincere condolences to the families of the deceased victims. Our thoughts are with all those involved.

Pedestrian Collisions in Houston

Houston, TX - Three Killed in 3 Separate Pedestrian Crashes along FM 1960

Thousands of people are injured in Houston pedestrian accidents and hundreds more lose their lives each year. Pedestrian accidents in Houston and across the state of Texas occur at an alarming rate. There were 7,908 pedestrian accidents that occurred in 2018 in the Lone Star State, including deadly and non-fatal accidents.

According to information provided by the Texas Department of Transportation, 2018 was one of the worst years for Houston pedestrian collisions across Texas. In the first six months of 2018, there were more than 290 Texas pedestrian crashes. The Lone Star State sees more pedestrian accidents than nearly any other state in the nation, probably due to the state’s high population.

Pedestrian collisions are often more catastrophic and devastating than any other type of traffic accident. Due to pedestrians being totally unprotected while traveling, they usually suffer more severe injuries in accidents than those who are injured while riding in passenger vehicles. For this reason, it is imperative to seek legal representation if you feel that you or a loved one has been injured or lost their life due to another person’s negligence. A Houston wrongful death attorney will be able to help you recover financial compensation for funeral costs, outstanding medical bills, and other costs associated with your loved one’s passing in the event that you have lost someone to a fatal Houston pedestrian accident.
