Auto Collisions in Houston

Houston, TX - Vehicle Collision with Injuries on I-610 E & Buffalo Speedway

Serious and fatal auto collisions plague Houston and the surrounding areas on a daily basis. On average, Texas sees more than 400,000 car accidents per year. In 2019, there were an estimated 439,388 auto collisions that occurred with 256,338 people sustaining injuries in those wrecks. Hundreds of accidents occur each day, impacting individuals living in the suburbs or cities. At Williams Hart & Boundas, we regularly deal with Houston car crashes. Those who have been injured in accidents or their surviving family members call our office for help, and we guide them through the litigation and/or insurance process. Many auto accident victims go through an insurance claim process, and a large number of victims or survivors do receive settlements. The amount a person may receive in a settlement depends on a wide range of factors. Some of these include the extent and nature of the plaintiff/claimant’s injuries, including ‘pain and suffering’ and the potential long-term impact of the injuries, among others.

Overall, a reportable crash occurred in Texas approximately once every 56 seconds in 2019. Also that same year, someone was hurt every two minutes and three seconds due to a Texas auto accident. Some other auto accident facts concerning Texas include:

  • Most traffic accidents in Texas occur in urban areas rather than rural.
  • More fatalities occurred in rural crashes.
  • Most fatal accidents occurred on Saturday, while most injury accidents happened on Friday in 2019.
