Houston, TX (January 14, 2022) – Just before 11 p.m., on January 12, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene of an incident on Laura Koppe Road.
Reports from authorities show that a Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputy was in pursuit of a possible robbery suspect who was driving an SUV during the evening hours. As the vehicle passed through the intersection of Laura Koppe Road and Lockwood Drive, it collided with the deputy’s vehicle.
After the initial collision, the SUV struck several other vehicles. The SUV then rolled over and struck two other vehicles. The deputy’s vehicle went off the road and into a parking lot where it collided with multiple other vehicles.
One woman involved in the accident suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. Two other children, a 2-year-old and a 5-year-old were transported to area hospitals for the treatment of injuries. The deputy was also transported to a nearby hospital for care.
