Spring, TX – Three Injured in Main Chick Truck Accident at Louetta & Stuebner Airline Rds

Jul 8, 2021 | Houston, TX Traffic Accidents

Spring, TX (July 7, 2021) – The kitchen inside the Main Chick HTX’s food truck is closed, and three of their employees sustained serious injuries following an accident that occurred this week in Spring.

Officers with the Spring Police Department say that a truck driver slammed into the food truck as employees were working. The driver reportedly ran a red light and crashed into the food truck, which was located at the intersection of Louetta Road and Stuebner Airline Road.

The impact of the collision threw one of the employees, identified only as an adult female, into 375-degree grease, resulting in severe burns across much of her upper body. Owner Ali Nasser said that video footage from a restaurant nearby showed the truck driver hopping a curb and then crashing into the food truck, launching it eight feet backward.

All three employees who sustained injuries have been released from the hospital but are continuing to recover at home. The injuries of the other two employees were not specified, and the employees’ identities have not been released.

As for the driver involved, it’s still not known what charges they will face. Spring officers say their investigation is ongoing, and further details have not been released.

Our thoughts are with everyone involved in hopes of a full and fast recovery.

Harris County Auto Accident Injuries

As reported by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, approximately 129,000 people in the United States required emergency room visits in one recent year for treatment of injuries they sustained during pedestrian-involved accidents. Additionally, another 5,376 pedestrians died as a result of their injuries. Pedestrians are almost twice as likely to die during a car crash than the occupant of a vehicle, and if they do manage to survive being struck by a car, they usually have a very long period of recovery to endure.
