Sugar Land, TX (July 26, 2021) – A two-car accident took one life and closed the northbound lanes of the Southwest Freeway feeder in Sugar Land on the morning of July 26. At approximately 7:00 a.m., the collision was reported to authorities in the area who promptly responded to the scene.
The incident was stated to have taken place just after 7:00 a.m. between an 18-wheeler and a pickup truck in the vicinity of Crabb River Road. The wreck triggered a fire and a passenger present in the pickup truck lost their life at the scene.
The 18-wheeler rolled over due to the accident. Sugar Land authorities stated that the area in which the crash took place would be blocked for approximately four hours while crews worked to clear the road.
Traffic was redirected onto Crabb River Road, according to reports. Police continue to investigate.
