Train Accident Victim Awarded $1,075,000 Settlement

A former locomotive mechanic for Union Pacific Railroad has been awarded $1,075,000 after sustaining serious injuries to his knee and back in a railyard train accident. The incident occurred when some improperly loaded trains traveled through the yard and collided with another group of rail cars, putting surrounding railyard workers in harm’s way. The plaintiff, Terry Stewart, attempted to stop the runaway rail cars.

Williams Hart & Boundas attorneys Cesar Tavares and Margot Trevino secured a substantial verdict for their client, covering past and future damages. While this settlement cannot reverse the pain and suffering Mr. Stewart endured, it upholds accountability from the negligent party. The verdict also guarantees Mr. Stewart financial compensation for his medical bills and lost wages.

Williams Hart & Boundas understands how challenging recovery can be for victims of train accidents. Our qualified legal team is passionate about fighting for the justice our clients deserve. We are proud of the work we do for people like Mr. Stewart.
