Sean McCarthy has been a Partner at Williams Hart & Boundas, LLC since 2012 and has been practicing law since 2005. He primarily focuses on personal injury cases and leads the firm’s insurance litigation docket, representing those who have been wrongfully denied or underpaid by insurance companies for medical, property, and life insurance claims. He is also well versed in commercial litigation and civil litigation.
Sean has successfully won many multi-million-dollar settlements for his clients. One such case involved a county housing authority making claims against two accounting firms. Sean was able to obtain a $2.25 million dollar settlement for his client. His accomplishments also extend to his personal injury casework. In one of many notable cases, Sean represented an individual who had been hit by a driver of a company vehicle while at a crosswalk. The case went to trial and Sean obtained a $15 million dollar jury verdict. His broad range of legal experience has left him uniquely equipped to take on a variety of complex cases. When he takes on a case, his relentless fight for justice is mirrored in his ability to gain favorable results for his clients.
Sean is licensed to practice law in Texas, as well as in the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas, Southern District of Texas, Eastern District of Texas, and Northern District of Texas. He is also admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, as well as in the United States Court of Federal Claims. He graduated from the United States Air Force Academy in 2000, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in political science. He then attended the University of Houston Law Center, where he received his law degree in 2008, graduating magna cum laude.
Sean has also been selected by his peers for inclusion in Texas Super Lawyers Rising Stars list by Thomson Reuters from 2014 to 2018, as well as in Texas Super Lawyers from list from 2020 to 2023.
