USW Local 13-2001 recently celebrated the 33rd anniversary of its scholarship program, continuing a long-standing commitment to supporting education and investing in the future of its members’ families.

On April 28, 2026, the union awarded 15 scholarships totaling $15,400. Since the program’s inception, USW Local 13-2001 has awarded 464 scholarships totaling $446,700.

    USW Local 13-2001 Honors Scholarship Recipients

    The evening began with a prayer led by union member Myron Coleman, setting a meaningful tone for the celebration. Guests then enjoyed a meal catered by Antonio’s Italian Grill before the scholarship program officially commenced.

    A highlight of the evening was a heartfelt thank-you poem written and presented by Ms. Madie Coleman, reflecting the gratitude and lasting impact of the scholarship program on recipients and their families.

    Recognizing Education, Perseverance, and Opportunity

    Union President Jesse Green spoke about the importance of education and the union’s continued dedication to supporting students. Jim Hart of Williams Hart & Boundas, LLP also delivered an inspiring speech, emphasizing the value of perseverance and opportunity.

    Scholarship awards were presented by Mr. Hart alongside Eloy Gaitan, also representing Williams Hart & Boundas, LLP.

    Scholarship recipients recognized through this year’s program included Darren Jordan Jr., Elysse LeBlanc, Jayla Smith, Hallie Baker, Cutter Balcom, Baylee Bennett, Hannah Brooks, Joshia Coleman, Myron Coleman, Victoria Ludwig, Zoey Lundwig, Gia Montalto, Serenity Quezada, and Jorge Quintero.
